Brief

This project aims at enhancing learning using new and future technology for high school students. By researching potential educational methods and skills and conducting primary research with various stakeholders, we identified viable and desirable opportunities and developed solutions and primary use case scenarios that lead to the “classroom” of 2030.

Current Situations

It’s already 2020, but students are still sitting in the classroom. They listen to lectures and do endless reading and writing every day.

Current Situations

The traditional way doesn’t work now.

The traditional teaching method is inefficient in the way students absorb new knowledge while sitting in the classroom all day.

The main pain points: Boring class activities; Anxiety before assessments.

“People with soft skills are better to work with.”

91% of CEOs globally say that they need to strengthen their organization’s soft skills to sit alongside digital skills.

PWC (2018)

“Standardized testing is ineffective for assessing students in different aspects.”

85% of Australian teachers feel that national standardized testing is ineffective as a method for teachers to use to assess students.

Australian Education Union (2018)

Meso Trends in Education

AI & AR would help to assist the learning process and embed the knowledge in daily life.

“We’re happy to embrace more technology in our teaching process.”

69% of US teachers believe that technology can be used to support any subject.

Flexi = Borderless Learning

Flexi is an educational system for high school students who want to learn more from the community and expand their knowledge. Our Mission is to enable high school students to love to learn by experiencing the world and getting knowledge from various contexts.

Flexi provides multiple approaches to bridge gaps between students and their communities. We’re looking forward to creating a curiosity-driven, location-based, life-long learning experience for both students and teachers.

Design Criteria

Flexi is the bridge that connects students, teachers, and schools with abundant resources in the community.

Affordability

Our target students, parents, teachers, and communities can afford this system.

Flexibility

The system is flexible in respecting students’ different strengths and interests.

Balance

Provide a balanced control between playing and studying.

Assessment

The system is designed based on common-core standards and helps teachers to assess students’ behaviors and learning outcomes.

Integration

Multiple platforms, resources, and educational methods are engaged in the system.

Initiative

Students will be motivated to take the initiative for their personal development.
