Mm UX
This project focuses on designing the digital experience of the Mm (click to view the full project), a single-serve dual-mode coffeemaker that maximizes the home coffee-drinking experience while minimizing environmental impact. I explored how IoT features can improve the overall coffee-making experience in both automatic and manual scenarios, and designed the interface of the Mm app and smart dial on the machine.

Setting up the “brew later” feature for your morning coffee is easy: simply follow the instructions to select a preset recipe, add ground coffee and water, and set the timer. In the morning, you’ll wake up to a freshly brewed cup of coffee with a personalized flavor.

Thanks to the connectivity function, the app will send timely notifications after brewing coffee on the Mm coffeemaker. You will receive a reminder to clean up and recycle the used ground coffee.
Recycling Program
Users can earn award points by recycling their used ground coffee. These points can be redeemed for useful coffee-making products and coupons at partnered coffee stores. The “store locator” function makes it easy to find nearby stores where users can drop off and recycle their used coffee grounds.
