Sandboarding is a boardsport and extreme sport similar to snowboarding. It involves riding down a sand dune while standing on the board.
An Extreme Condition Location
Grand Sand Dunes National Park
Located in the San Luis Valley, Colorado, Grand Sand Dunes National Park boasts the tallest sand dune in North America. Sandboarding is a popular activity in the park, but most of the sand dunes do not allow vehicle access to protect the Indian tribes living there.
An Adventurer
Marc Pastore
Marc is a sandboarder and endurance athlete who was born and raised in San Luis Valley. In his youth, he spent a lot of time snowboarding and skateboarding. He now enjoys participating in endurance-based sports such as trail running and mountain biking. Sandboarding allows him to blend all of these sports together.
